Two generously sized, side-by-side aviaries are painted in colour. Two chambers are each connected by a window. In the first cage the colours on offer are blue and red, in the second white as well as a dark grey. The canaries flying in it can freely determine their habitat and move around between the two colours offered. However, they cannot choose whether they prefer to be at home in the coloured or non-coloured cage. Does the artistic environment presented matter at all to the birds? Do they possibly sing more beautifully due to the exposure to colours? Does art have a similar effect on them as it has on us?
