In their exhibition, the two English conceptual artists Mel Ramsden and Michael Baldwin, who have been working together for over twenty years under the name Art & Language, present a thematic link between early works from the 1960s / 1970s and current works. At the center of this project is the critical question of how the instances of the artist and the artwork influence each other and what position and attitude the viewers take in this dialogue. Their free handling of different artistic media such as drawing, painting and sculpture makes it clear that the conceptual attitude of Art & Language from the sixties has found a very current and sceptical way into the current questions of art.
Art & Language was founded in 1968 in Coventry/GB as a group of artists. It is dedicated to conceptual art.
