The video installation by Pipilotti Rist and Muda Mathis consists of 14 monitors, which are hung on the walls at different heights. Short sequences are broadcast one after the other, leading the viewer from one monitor to the next, from one story to the next. Anyone who thinks video is boring will be proven wrong by this technically perfect work. Pipilotti Rist compares the 14 stations to a crossway. Her crossway however begins where the other one ends and leads in a completely different direction – away from suffering towards pleasure. The unifying element of the 14 sequences is movement. However, traps have been placed in the way of this flow, such as a large boulder that inhibits the flow of movement of the videos, which one must avoid, but behind which one can also hide, feeling secure. "Die Tempodrosslerin saust" (engl. «The pace throttler whizzes») deals with time in a very special and multi-layered way; the elements of movement and static, of moving forward and being slowed down, of path and lifetime form the structure of the installation.
