Beat Streuli was selected by the jury in 1994 as the winner of the Prix Montres Breguet. This prize includes CHF 20,000 for the artist, a catalog and a solo exhibition in an institution. Beat Streuli developed a special exhibition project for St.Gallen. The visual material was created in New York in the summer of 1994. Streuli secretly observed there for weeks a group of young people who met daily near his apartment. The moments captured with video (in real time) and slides give an insight into the special clothing, behavior, rituals and gestures of these young people.
Beat Streuli (*1957, Altdorf/CH) lives and works in Zurich and Brussels.
